I usually don't do dark art, but this peice is displaying my past of rape.
Not that I want to rehash the past, but I have been talking to someone about their experience with it, and I have had a past with it, so this picture is displaying the pain that comes with being hurt by rape. The faces are a representation of the faces of the rapists that are stamped in a woman's head. The woman in the picture is turning away from them because she doesn't want to remember their image. She is hiding her face because of the shame she feels from rape. The decayed hand on her head represents he inability to protect herself at the time of the rape. The hand in front of her mouth represents the silence she holds from the fear of saying anything about the rape to her family and loved ones...plus also shushed out of fear. Her hair that is pulled outside of the picture is displaying something that happened against her will, she was forced to endure the act of rape. The picture is dark because this is how you feel when you have endured such things. I have healed from rape but I'm still somewhat affected by my past, although many others haven't and are still affected. There is hope, but at the time when it is still stamped in your mind everything feels hopeless. I know. Awesome woman stock: Sand faces stock: [link] Texture: |

may the silvery hands of imagination reach down from above you.. let them plunge into your mind, zapping it with liquid inspiration.. let it fill your soul with ecstasy...
